Vegan Transition Update/Kombucha!!!
Happy Groundhog Day!
I hope you all had a great weekend and a great Super Bowl Sunday Funday! Had some fun with my family and friends this weekend. Had my first restaurant experience after changing my diet back to vegan. Luckily I was able to pick where we went for brunch! Here in NYC there are lots of options for vegans and some places serve meat in addition to vegan food. We went to one of my favorite places yesterday, Mexican Radio!
The food is great, the drinks are great and the people that work there are nice! I go there often for lunch and dinner, but the brunch is worth checking out! If you're vegetarian or vegan and you're eating with carnivores this place is perfect!
If you're wondering how my transition back to vegan went the past couple of weeks, it has been challenging but I feel much better. I finished that huge Coffeemate creamer and since then I have been drinking my coffee black, baking vegan treats and eating almond milk ice cream. The ice cream was gross so I have to find one that tastes good. I'm going to call my girl D who can help me out with that! Stay tuned for news on that!
I do miss my Utz Cheddar and Sour Cream chips but I have replaced them with No Salt Plain chips and guacamole.
In other good news, my friend Chris put me on to this kombucha drink by Health-Ade:
I was not a fan of kombucha because I did not like the taste. I got this one at Westerly Market in Manhattan and it actually tastes good! I bet you're wondering why drink this stuff? Here are a few reasons why:
1. Aids in digestion
2. Helps boost your immune system
3. Detoxification
4. Liver support
5. Improved mood
I just started to drink kombucha so I'll report back in a couple of weeks and let you know how it's going. Next post I'll be sharing another recipe. Easy and pretty effortless to make so stay tuned!
Peace & Love,
LT
